Bamboo Train

This is the famous bamboo train aka norry in Battambang, Cambodia.  This was the sole reason that I came to Battambang. I had read that the government was planning on rebuilding the rail lines and that this was eventually going to disappear.  The bamboo train is a 1 m gauge train track where locals ride a rail cart with a bamboo platform that is easily disassembled to allow for the other on coming  carts to pass, right-of-way going to the cart with the bigger load.   To me it reminded me of a bamboo flying carpet train.  I’m not sure what if these still exist however I’m glad I went to check it out and it experience it.
